The LEARNing project operates through a
set of workshops held within each participating country, as well as European
events designed to draw the national lessons together.
A European workshop is being held
in Brussels on October 14th. More details...
Three workshops have been held in the UK
to date, attended by researchers, policymakers and activists:

The events were facilitated so that they are participative
and different perspectives were valued. Attendees were invited from a
range of agencies working on agricultural and rural issues in order to
hear and recognise as many different voices as possible. |
 |
We aimed to make our own perspectives apparent (no hidden
agenda) and chose to focus on managing complexity in rural affairs because
it is an area that many people are interested in, and because we felt our
own experience enabled us to make a serious contribution. |
 |
A range of systems tools were introduced and used in the
course of the events, to help make sense of situations experienced as
complex and to facilitate communication about them. |
