LEARNing Event - May 29th 2003
The Queens Hotel, Cheltenham
The second LEARNing event on May 29th continued the
conversation started at Walton Hall, exploring learning and change in the
rural context in more depth. The event included many newcomers as well as
some who had taken part on May 1st.

Purpose of the day
The purpose of the event on May 29 was to:
 | Generate a richer appreciation of different perspectives
on the forms of complexity associated with agricultural and rural issues,
and on the capacities of individuals and organisations to respond to this
complexity; |
 | Identify and analyse situations for learning for purposeful
change at the level of the individual and organisation (local, regional,
national, international); |
 | Begin to develop different types of relationships among
stakeholders concerned with an increasingly multifunctional agriculture
(encompassing agricultural, food, environmental and rural policy and
practice) and sustainable rural livelihoods; |
 | Experience the use of systems tools and techniques to foster
participation and social learning. |
Programme
The
programme (pdf, 47K) started at 10:00 am and finished at 3:30 pm.
